Planning and booking travel is one of the trickiest things about wanderlust. Over the years, I’ve figured out the simplest and cheapest ways to plan, book and enjoy a trip. Here are my go-to websites for finding the best deals, and the travel gear I don’t go anywhere without.

Omio
Omio lets you easily compare plane, train and bus journeys by price or journey duration to find the cheapest or fastest option for journeys within Europe.
Interrail
Going interrailling? You can choose from various passes, for one country or multiple destinations. If you aren’t European, you should look at Eurail passes instead.

UK train travel is pricey. This is the place to save money on UK train tickets. The website is impartial and independent so it finds you the cheapest possible tickets.
Europcar
Rent a car or van from over 200 locations in the UK, or from any one of their 3835 worldwide locations. Best price guaranteed.
