England’s southwest coast is so beautiful, you could be forgiven for forgetting you’re still in England as you sink your toes into the sand there.
The ‘Cornish Riviera’ has been on my bucket list for some time and I’ve always thought it would be a great destination for a hen do or big friends’ reunion.
If you’re planning a group trip to Cornwall where you can soak up sun, surf and umm… Cornish pasties; this list of the best Cornwall holiday rentals for groups of six or more is bound to have something that suits you.
They all have serious wow factor in their own unique ways!
10 of the best Cornwall holiday rentals for groups
Here’s my pick of the most jaw-dropping Cornwall accommodation options you can rent for a dreamy UK holiday Down South. These abodes will make a perfect place to relax on a week-long trip around England, or for a dedicated trip in Cornwall.
Old Orchard House, Launceston
A flawlessly furnished period house that sleeps ten, this property is near the Cornwall/Devon border so you can explore both destinations. Slate floors, sliding glass doors, open-plan living spaces and luxurious leather sofas give this place a really high-end vibe, and it’s perfect for big group getaways. And that roll-top copper bath! Stunning.
Lutson Barn, Bude
This converted barn near Tamar Lake sleeps 14 and has lots of outside space and polished concrete floors inside. Floor to ceiling windows make it easy to watch whatever’s going on in the garden from inside, and there are lots of modern amenities.
Brook Haven, Bude
Brook Haven has a sunken leisure pool, a games room and sun loungers. It’s set in an acre of private land and fits 16 people. The living area has everything you could possibly need for a big group getaway in Cornwall: sofas, a large flatscreen TV with Sky TV and DVD, Wii connection and iPod through the music system.
Poltair Woodcocks Roost, Hayle
It was hard to choose a picture to sum up this one, because there’s SO much to show! It sleeps eight but the place is mammoth, with its own pond, a detached BBQ lodge that can seat 16, a hot tub, bali beds, a balcony, freestanding bath… I could go on. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area too – Godrevy beach is nearby.
Old Farmhouse Week Orchard, Bude
A restored farmhouse that sleeps 12 and has a woodburner, flat screen TVs, a games room with a pool table, a sauna, hot tub and en-suites. It’s over 400 years old and enjoys countryside views, but the coast is within easy reach. There are also two kitchens, so you could use one for cooking and one for entertaining.
Miners, Portreath
This contemporary home sleeps ten across three floors and one of the master bedrooms has a huge balcony with a hot tub and seating area. It’s located near the coastal resorts of Portreath and Porthtowan, which both have beautiful beaches.
The Light House, Bude
This stunning coastal home with views across the Atlantic was designed and built by a couple whose own home has been featured on Grand Designs. The materials are sustainable and everything is high spec and contemporary. This property sleeps eight.
Coolroe, Millbrook
This detached house with a south facing garden is well placed for long days on Cornwall’s beaches, with Whitsand Bay, Cawsand, Kingsand, Freathy and Seaton all within easy reach. Lounge in front of the wood burner in the colder months, and eat dinner al fresco in summer. Sleeps eight.
Trewartha House, Helford
If you’re more into stately homes than modern design, Trewartha House is the ideal holiday home for eight in Cornwall. In Port Navas Creek, this rather grand house gives renters access to your very own slipway with boat storage on the River Helford. Open fires, traditional furnishings and an aga make this property perfect for history buffs.
The Saltings, Padstow
A short drive to the beaches at Rock and Polzeath, near to the River Camel; this cosy home sleeps six. You can easily visit the surfing haven of Polzeath or Port Isaac, where the TV series Doc Martin was set. The interiors are all exposed brick and wood, there’s a log burner and a big garden with a picnic bench for lazy days.
